Let me be among the first to congratulate the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department on arresting three women in Ypsilanti Township for prostitution recently. (I wish there had been more detail about the planning of the operation.) With these demimondes in the slammer for 48 hours, I for one will sleep better at night.
Now is the time for phase two - arresting high-end prostitutes who don’t need the money. […] Even though there are thousands of high-class prostitutes, we should be able to find room in the county jail for some of them if only three cells are currently in use. The big problem, as I see it, is women with money have lawyers who won’t allow them to go to jail for a private financial transaction.
